We proudly present the Humble Square Enix Collective Bundle Games as our latest giveaway. Humble Bundle has teamed up with Square Enix for a “great collection of indie titles”. We think that indie games are really some underrated gems, compared to the more popular big franchises at least, so keep reading to see what’s up for grabs!
The Turing Test
The Turing Test is a first person game that is centered around puzzles and exploration. Set in an abandoned space station, you’ll need to explore the environment, solving several different puzzles to progress further in the game. There’s definitely a lot of thinking involved when trying to work around these mechanics.
It’s impressive how there’s also a whole narrative and storyline behind this puzzle-solving, which makes it feel like going through these levels has some purpose. Furthermore, the majority of these puzzles require you to use this energy gun, to transfer spheres of fire into special slots to activate certain devices.
What makes this game so fun is the sense of progression. The further you get, the more abilities and options you unlock. For example, you’ll be able to control technology (like cameras or robots) to scout out an area before going in or activate necessary components.
Black The Fall
Similarly to The Turing Test, this game is also puzzle-based, but is a side-scrolling platformer. You’re essentially stuck in this industrial complex, and it’s your job to successfully navigate your way out through obstacles with quick thinking.
To thwart your plans, there will be a few enemies that you need to get rid of. To make things even more exciting, you’ll be able to get a robotic dog sidekick later on in the game; this means you will get some help and have access to some more complex puzzles! The graphics of this game are almost ‘cartoon-’like’ and low poly, which adds to the overall charm of Black The Fall.
Oh My Godheads
What’s a good way to put it? Oh My Godheads is probably the very embodiment of chaos and destruction, which is probably the best kind of couch multiplayer game. Essentially, you have to choose a character… Each of them have their own individual unique personalities and abilities, might I add!
Then, you’re pitted against your friends in an ultimate battle. To spice things up a little, there are various game modes you can play, including Capture the Flag and just a good old brawl. There is no shortage of ways you can take down your friends, with our personal favorite being a pie to the face.
Oh My Godheads bears quite a striking resemblance to Gang Beasts in terms of gameplay. This game can also be played alone, as there are bots and AI you can fight against. However, we would highly recommend this game for a party or hangout session with friends.
Boundless is an MMO survival game, where you’re given the opportunity to explore and inhabit wonderful different worlds. Boundless is similar to Minecraft actually, as there isn’t really a story or campaign you are ‘forced’ to play. It’s a true sandbox and you’re free to make the world your own.
You’re able to customize your own character at the beginning of the game. Afterwards, you are taught the basics of survival and several gameplay mechanics. To upgrade your abilities, you’ll need to advance in skill trees and gather more resources.
Playing alone can become quite tedious though, which is why Boundless provides multiplayer support, meaning you can play with your friends! Long-time players recommend this actually, since it would take a very long time to grind individually. Any what could be better than surviving with somebody else, while traversing through various planets?
Like the previous articles that have covered our giveaways, we haven’t completely mentioned all of the games. If you’d like to see what else is available, please check out the Humble Square Enix Collective Bundle.
